About the Author
Brittany Groussman

Brittany fell in love with reading as a child, and she was rarely seen without a book either tucked into her bag or cradled in her arms. Fantasy books were her escape into adventurous worlds, and she’s lost track of how many times she’s read her favorite series - Percy Jackson and the Olympians and The Inheritance Cycle.

Her love of writing is almost as old as her love of reading. The joy those fantasy worlds provided her and the excitement she experienced from the stories fostered her dream of being an author. She can still remember the first short story that she wrote as a young girl about a shape-shifter who was fleeing for her life from a corrupt army general. Ever since then, she’s been obsessed with creating her own fantasy worlds and writing stories that she hopes will give people the same sense of happiness that she felt when falling in love with fantasy books. Now, she writes YA Fantasy. Her debut book, Darkness in the Forest, was published on July 31, 2024, and it's expected to be the start of a three-part series.

Brittany has a B. S. in Psychology from Kennesaw State University, and she works as a fencing coach for the teams at her local high school and middle schools. She lives in Georgia with her husband, her golden retriever, and two cats. When she isn’t writing, she enjoys video gaming, playing Dungeons & Dragons, learning to cook new recipes, and getting her nose stuck in the newest book that caught her eye. She also has a great love of nature that was nurtured through her decade in Girls Scouts which was spent adventuring through the Chattahoochee National Forest, canoeing in the Okefenokee Swamp, camping in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and going on two big trips to Seattle and Iceland.
